He Gave His Best Gift

        When Queen Victoria first came to the British throne, the whole of India was under British rule. At that time the Maharajah was a mere boy. In order to show his allegiance to the Empress of India, he sent the Queen the Koh-I-Noor diamond. This magnificent offering was placed in the Tower of London, among the other carefully guarded crown jewels. 

        Some years later, when the Maharajah was a grown man, he visited the Queen at Buckingham Palace. After bowing to her majesty, he requested that he might be allowed to see the Koh-I-Noor. Wondering at his request, the Queen with her usual kindness gave orders to bring forth the priceless jewel and show it to the Maharajah.

        In due time, the jewel was presented to the young Indian prince. Very reverently he took it in his hands, examined it carefully, and the turned and knelt at the foot of the Queen saying: "Madam, I gave you this jewel when I was too young to know what I was doing, I want to give it again, in the fullness of my strength, with all my heart, and affection, and gratitude, now and forever, fully realizing all that I do."

        God gave His very best to us in sending His only begotten Son to be our Saviour. Have you accepted this priceless gift?

        "But God cammendeth His love toward us, in that, while we were yet sinners, Christ died for us" (Romans 5:8)

        "For when were yet without strength, in due time Christ died for the ungodly" (Romans 5:6)

Simulated Old Testament Village at the Museum Of The Bible in Washington DC

I visited the Museum of the Bible in Washington DC. It is a six floor building that looks really nice. I think the museum is a place that all Christians should put on the 'bucket list'. I have learned a lot at the museum. It is not just static displays but also interactive ones plus lots of great videos. The below photos are of the village that they recreated on one of the floors of the museum. One of the security guards helped me take photos of me among some of the structures. I think this little village gives an insight of what life might have been like back then. Here I am on the floor where they have a replica of a typical Jewish town during the Old Testament time. It was really neat and gave a feeling of what life might have been like back then. This is one floor of six floors of the museum.  Here I am near a tree near a wine press. The Lord's Pressence
