Happy New Year

Image
created in the paint program in Windows by Microsoft.           Happy New Year   !!               Do you wander what this New Year will bring? We are living in a time of change and trouble, a time when people do not seek the Lord to bring them through these changes and troubles. As a child of God, how do you handle what is going on in the world?                                    Helen H Lemmel          Though we do not know what lies ahead, we do know that the Lord is coming. We need to be working and waiting and watching until He comes. We need to be about our business - the business of getting the Gospel out to the world.         The scriptures abound in teaching concerning the importance of living our lives with a focused attention on Christ Jesus, seeking only those values that have eternal worth. Prayer For The New Year

Image
I found this image on the internet. Prayer For The New Year What shall I ask for the coming year? What shall my watchword be? What wouldst You do for me, dear Lord? What can I do for Thee? Lord, I would ask for a year of LOVE. That I may love Thee best;  Give me the love that faileth not, Beneath the hardest test. Lord, I would ask a year of prayer, Teach me to walk with Thee; Breath in my heart Thy Spirit's breath; Pray Thou Thy prayer in me. Lord, I would ask for they dying world, Stretch fourth Thy mighty hand; Thy truth proclaim, Thy power display, In this and every land. author Unknown This was copied from the bulletin of  Calvary Baptist Church   in Portsmouth NH . date of bulletin: December 31, 2023 TomLeeM 2023 / 12 / 31

The Greatest Gift

Image
this is supposed to be a gift. I did it in Windows paint.     The greatest gift that ever was given sent straight to us from God's own heaven.     Was not a priceless crown of gold or some other rare gem of worth untold.     But God himself gave His own Son, the sinless, perfect worthy one.     Whose blood could pay salvation's price. and be God's Lamb of sacrifice.     In the fullness of time our Savior's come, whose Name is above all others names, He left behind His kingly throne, and Heaven's wealth that was His own. Creator was He, humble, peasant's birth, to a dark and lonely stable stall came the King of Kings and Lord of all.     Perfect was He, without blemish or blot, though I am a sinner, He sinned not, though I am unworthy of all His grace, still He died as a sinner, and took my place.     In Bethlehem prophecy as fulfilled, Messiah was born, just as God willed. He became sin that I might become G

Happy Holiday

Image
I created it with a Star of David on the tree since                                                        it refers to the star that led the wise men to Bethlehem where                                                       Jesus the Christ came to earth to become man. Since it is happened                                                       in the manger, it showed how he is the Lamb of God and mangers                                                        are where animals are born. It also shows that Jesus the Christ                                                       is a descendent of David as shown in the beginning of Matthew.  Happy Holiday      We hear it so often around the time of year: "Happy Holiday"! "Season's Greetings"! Everyone seems to be in the mood for some kind of festive celebrating. Exactly what is the holiday that we are celebrating? Are we afraid to say it? Will people b

The Candy Cane Gospel

Image
The following was copied from the church bulletin from Calvary Baptist Church in Portsmouth NH . I think it is inspiring and insightful. Bulletin date December 10, 2023. The Candy Cain Gospel What do you think of when you see a candy cane? A Christmas decoration? A sweet treat? There's more to see. Here are 5 ways candy canes can help us remember the real meaning of Christmas. 'J' is for Jesus. If you turn a candy cane in just the right way, you will see the letter 'J' which reminds us the Savior's name. Before Jesus was born, an angel deliver a special message from God: 'Call His name Jesus: For He shall save His people from their sins' ( Matthew 1:21 ). A Shepherds Staff: Now turn the candy cane around and it looks like a shepherd's staff = a curved stick used by shepherds to care for and protect their sheep. The shepherds were among the first people to see Jesus after He was born in Bethlehem ( Luke 2:8-20 ). Jesus said people are like sheep, and
