Part Four of my Trip to the Museum of the Bible in Washington DC
This is the four part of the my trip to the Museum of the Bible in Washington DC. There is a lot to see and learn. If one wants to learn not only about the Bible but also those who were or are involved in it, this museum is the go to place. I would recommend not only going once but a few times. I believe there are parts that change. I think one can not learn everything there in just one trip.
This is George Washington Carver. I think he was a brilliant man. He did so much to help farmers create a market for what they grow.
Here is information on George Washington Carver. It was really interesting.
This is the Gutenberg press. It was really cool looking. I believe this is a replica.
Here is another view of it. A Gutenberg press was used to print a Bible. I believe it was the first book to be printed using it.
Here are some images of the pages that was printed using the replica Gutenberg printer. I think they came out really nice. It made printing Bibles easier and faster. Before this, Bibles was copied by hand, which was time consuming.
I believe this was Elvis Presley's Bible.
This was a place where one could record - in a video - how the Bible influenced you. I used it to give my testimony. I think it was neat. It has to be approved. I did not - in my opinion - say anything controversial.
This was one of the floors but I am not sure which one.
This is the top floor with a view of the other buildings. There was two rooms with artifacts but one was closed. I believe it led to an auditorium where they had performances (none happening when we were there).
These are bone boxes. After the body has decayed and the bones remained, they are placed in these boxes. They are a lot smaller than coffins or caskets.
