Only - Plus God

Only - Plus God

        ONLY - a blast of rams' horn and a shout - and God made the walls of proud Jericho crumble to their foundations, and the key to all Canaan was in the hand of Israel (Joshua 6)

        ONLY  two women, Deborah, inspired courage in the fainting hearts of Israel's men; the other, Jael, with a hammer and nail laid Israel's master low; thus the end  to twenty years of might oppression (Judges4-5).

        ONLY an ox goad - but in six hundred Philistines were slain, and Israel was delivered by Shamgar's God 
(Judges 3:31) 

        ONLY a trumpet blast, the smash of lighted pitchers, and a shout- but by these, and Gideon, God delivered Israel from the seven year yoke of the Midianites (Judges 6-7-8).

        ONLY the jawbone of an ass - yet heaps upon heaps of Philistines fell before it because God strengthened Samson's arms that wielded it. (Judges 15)

        ONLY a sling, and a stone with unnerving precision, and directed by Almighty God - that day Philistine mighty men were put to shame; the Philistine giant licked the dust, and God's honor was vindicated (1 Samuel 17)

        ONLY a few ignorant, unlettered, yet wholehearted and consecrated men and women - but by the power of God they made men believed in that One whos life seemingly was a failure, and taught men the way of salvation which transforms its possessors into the likeness of the Son of God Himself, and ultimately lands them into eternal glory (Acts 12). 


        God uses the base, despised, weak, foolish things of the world to do His own glorious work (1 Corinthians 1:27-29). If you are such in your own eyes, and content to be such in the eyes of others, then the very same power, from the very same Lord, for the very same purpose, will be yours! The might works of God are at your disposal!

Part Two of My Trip to the Museum of the Bible in Washington DC

This is the part where they had the King James Bibles. It gave some information on the history of it and there were a few King James Bibles too. There might be other photos of this floor where they have the history of the Bible and they will be part of a different blog. It took up the whole floor. There are six floors of the museum with floor having a different theme / part of the Bible. These photos are nice but one should go to the museum to really experience what they have and learn from what they show.  The upper part of the King James Bible sign.
