Forgiveness

"In whom we have redemption through his blood, the forgiveness of sins, according to the riches of his grace."
        Ephesians  1:7

Forgiveness through redemption is based upon the blood - the finished work of Christ upon the cross.

In forgiveness, we have peace with God and peace of conscience. A forgiven person has immediate access to God. All redeemed and forgiven people are "kings and priest unto God" (Revelation 1:6), and we need not the intercession of any man, for Christ Jesus is our eternal High Priest and we can "come boldly unto the throne of grace" (Hebrews 4:12).

The forgiven believer has no fear of Hell because his sins are gone! (Micah 7:19; Isaiah 38:17) The forgiven Christian looks forward to and expects Christ's coming and a home in Heaven.

The Christian who has been forgiven has an obligation toward others. As we have been forgiven, we are, in turn, to forgive others.

Bitterness of heart destroys fellowship with others believers and breaks fellowship with God. The Christian who will not forgive another is set on a course of self-destruction - mentally, emotionally and spiritually.

Our Lord not only set the example for us, but He also commanded that we forgive those who wrong us in any way. In addition to forgiving, we are commanded to pray for our enemies. Keep the prayer channels open and the fellowship sweet between your soul and the Savior.
