Here are 6 ways to be a bigger blessing in the coming year.
I found this on the Facebook page of The Positive Christian. I think it is very helpful and inspiring.
A new year's not just a time for resolutions, but a season to reflect on how we can be a blessing in the lives of others. The scripture in Galatians 6:10, “Therefore, as we have opportunity, let us do good to all people, especially to those who belong to the family of believers,” beautifully encapsulates this call to action. It reminds us of our duty to spread love and kindness.
Here are 6 ways to be a bigger blessing in the coming year.
1. Extend Compassion. In a world where suffering and hardship are common, showing compassion can have a profound impact. Whether it’s comforting someone in grief, understanding a friend’s struggle, or showing empathy to a stranger, your compassion can be a soothing presence in someone’s life. As Jesus showed compassion to those around Him, we too are called to do the same.
2. Volunteer Your Time. Time is a precious gift. When you volunteer, whether at a local shelter, church, or community event, you are giving a part of your life to better the lives of others. This selfless act can make a significant difference in your community and serve as a living testimony of God’s love in action.
3. Offer Words of Encouragement. Encouragement can lift spirits and change outlooks. In a world filled with negativity, be a beacon of positivity. As Proverbs 16:24 notes, “Gracious words are a honeycomb, sweet to the soul and healing to the bones.” Your words have the power to heal and uplift.
4. Pray for Others. Prayer is one of the most powerful tools in a Christian’s arsenal. Intercede for those around you, bringing their needs, hopes, and fears before God. It’s a silent yet powerful way to impact lives.
5. Give Generously. This year, aim to be generous with your patience, understanding, and forgiveness. The story of the widow’s mite in Mark 12:41-44 teaches us that the value of a gift is not in its size, but in the heart of the giver.
6. Present a Gift. A thoughtful Christian gift can be a wonderful way to encourage someone’s faith journey. Whether it’s a piece of jewelry, a devotional note card, or a prayer journal, such gifts can serve as daily reminders of God’s presence and your care.
In this new year, let each of us strive to be conduits of God’s love, extending His grace and kindness in our everyday actions. Let us remember the words of Matthew 5:16, “Let your light shine before others, that they may see your good deeds and glorify your Father in heaven."
They have an online store that has some very inspiring and affordable items that one can order.
I bought some Easter postcards that are really well done. I have used them already. They are bigger than most postcards. I wasn't sure the post office would take them - because of the size - but they did. They were a blessing to those who received them.
