For God So Loved The World. John 3:16 KJV

Bible Study Tools (compare translations) - John 3:16
The above is a link is for a site that compares different translations. This link is for John 3:16. One can see it in different translations with the above link. I chose the King James Version since I like how it says it.

'John 3:16 (KJV) For God so loved the world, that he gave his only begotten Son, that whosoever believeth in him should not perish, but have everlasting life.'

For God - The God of the Bible is Jehovah Elweh. The creator of all that is. The God that is eternal, all knowing and all powerful. The God who cared enough to provide a way for him to come to Him knowing he cannot do it on his own.

So Loved - Not a physical love or an emotional love but a divine love. In the Greek of the Bible, agapeo (Greek word meaning divine love or sacrificial love) love.

The world - While this includes the world, it doesn't mean that the world is saved. It means that the world can be saved if they believeth in Him.

Begotten Son - A son that is unlike any other. Unique in that no other person would qualify.

Whosoever - It is not limited to any person or group but applies to all.

Believeth - It is not just agreeing or accepting it as true but believing with all ones heart.

In Him - It is in Christ, the Son Of God. Not just anyone but in Jesus the Christ.

Should Not Perish - It is not a physical death but an eternal death where one is separated from God. where one would not perish in the lake of fire but be with God forever.

Everlasting Life - It is a life that does not end. One has a choice of rejecting God's love and spending eternity in the lake of fire and accepting God's love and spending eternity in Heaven with Christ who died on the cross as the perfect lamb of God, the sacrificial lamb.
