Simulated Old Testament Village at the Museum Of The Bible in Washington DC

I visited the Museum of the Bible in Washington DC. It is a six floor building that looks really nice. I think the museum is a place that all Christians should put on the 'bucket list'. I have learned a lot at the museum. It is not just static displays but also interactive ones plus lots of great videos.

The below photos are of the village that they recreated on one of the floors of the museum. One of the security guards helped me take photos of me among some of the structures. I think this little village gives an insight of what life might have been like back then.

Here I am on the floor where they have a replica of a typical Jewish town during the Old Testament time. It was really neat and gave a feeling of what life might have been like back then. This is one floor of six floors of the museum.
Here I am near a tree near a wine press. There was 'grapes' and the 'juice' collected in a bow below the 'grapes'.
Here am I near a painted background to simulate what the villagers would have seen at the simulated village. I think it was really well done.

Here is a path with different buildings on either side.
This shows some of the food that they ate at the time that the 'village' existed. It was interesting to see what they ate back then.
This is where they prepared the food. I believe that is a well in the background.
This is the synagogue in the village. I thought it would be fancier but it is still nice. There are places to sit on either side. I believe there is a place to store things at the far end behind the wood panels.
Here is where they ground their grains. On the left one can see a painted background where they grew the grains. In this case, one can see green olives on the lower left of the photo.

I will blog about different parts of the museum. After I cover the museum, I will add relevant Christian items that I think will help Christians in the faith and in living a Christ like life.

my beard is gone now but it was fun growing it.
I might grow it again.
